more good stuff from Lynette Coil

This month we have some quotes from the Old Words, and Motivational and Positive Quotes on getting through Life on Life’s Terms.  They can help in getting things back in perspective, as nothing, absolutely nothing lasts forever … It will change!

No matter how bad things are right now,

No matter how stuck you feel,

No matter how many days you’ve spent crying,

No matter how many days you’ve spent wishing

were different, No matter how hopeless and

depressed you feel, I promise you won’t live like
this forever. Just keep going.

Some Quotes from the Old Words

One of the best lessons you can learn in life

is to master how you remain calm.

Set boundaries and be ok with losing people

who are not for you.

Maturity is learning to walk away from people

and situations that threaten your peace of

mind, self respect, values, morals, and self

worth.

Keep your distance from people who will never

admit they are wrong and always try to make

you feel like it is all your fault.

Drive carefully on this road called “life”,

because people will switch lanes on you

without a signal.

Be good enough to forgive people, but don’t

be stupid enough to trust them again.

Always be ready to survive alone. Some people

suddenly change. Today you are important to

them, tomorrow you are nothing to them and

that’s real life.

Don’t waste words on people who deserve your

silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing

you can say is nothing at all.

Walk away from people who put you down.

Walk away from fights that will never be solved.

Walk away from trying to please people who will

never see your worth.

The more you walk away from things that poison

your soul, the healthier you will be.

Don’t worry about what people say behind your

back, they are the people who are finding faults

in your life instead of fixing the faults in their own

life.

Motivational and Positive Quotes

The truth is, life is not going to be easy, and some

days you are just struggling to be happy. Even though

it seems like things won’t get better, they will. Focus

on loving yourself with all your heart, and you will

start seeing beautiful changes in your life.

Happiness is not having what you want.

It is appreciating what you have.

The tongue has no bones, but it is strong enough to

break a heart. So be careful with your words.

Being sneaky behind a good person’s back will always

catch up to you.
Making a big life change is scary. But know what’s

Scarier? Regret

May people with good intentions find people with

good intentions.

You glow differently with good people in your life.

I like people who don’t need everyone to like them.

Never be a prisoner of your past; it was just a

lesson, not a life sentence.

Some people want material things. ME, I just want

peace, happy times, and people that love me.

Be grateful for all the little things that made your life

special, all those unremarkable events that made a

huge difference in your life, and all those who made you

extraordinary in some way. Be grateful.

May your week/month be filled with good thoughts,

kind people, and happy moments

" Running the wrong hound/out of position " by Lynette Coil

Whether it is a license trial, federation, sanction trial, most of us have been to a trial where the wrong dog was run and the Field Trial Committee was called to evaluate the situation. In summary, if the same owner/handler runs the dogs out of position or not as drawn, both dogs are disqualified. Next if you are in a brace and it is discovered the wrong dog was run as your bracemate, the bracemate that was run in error is disqualified and you either become the bye or if there is a bye, you are now the bracemate to the bye.   I’ve seen a female put down and it was a male class so the hound in error is disqualified, but not the bracemate. Another instance that could happen is an owner/handler puts down a dog that he does not have permission to run, as he took the wrong dog out of the cart or kennel and runs him/her versus the dog that was drawn or even called back. The dog he had permission to run and did not run, is eliminated; but the dog he did not have permission to run and he put that hound down in error, is not eliminated; as once again, he did not have permission to run that dog and the dog is able to run his position or where he was called back.

As they say, just when you think you have seen it all, go to another field trial.

The following Beagle Field Trial Rule covers the procedure in detail on how the Field Trial Committee should rule when we have the wrong dog run or out of position.

  Standard Procedures

General Procedures Governing Beagle Field Trials

Procedure 2. Entries, Page 22

2-A If any question should arise as to a different hound having been substituted in place of the hound described on the entry form, the question shall immediately be investigated by the Field Trial Committee, which shall decide whether or not the entered hound has been run, after giving all parties an opportunity to be heard, and submit a complete report of its findings and decision to the American Kennel Club.

If the Field Trial Committee decides that a hound other than the hound entered and drawn has been run, both the entered hound that did not run and the substituted hound shall be disqualified. Entry fees and any awards shall be forfeited. However, if it can be shown that the substituted hound was run by someone other than the owner or handler and without permission of the owner or handler, this dog shall not be disqualified.

If at a trial, a brace or trio or small pack of four becomes incomplete as the result of one or more hounds being disqualified under this Procedure before the completion of judging of first series, the remaining hound or hounds, retaining their same relative position to each other, shall be moved down to a position immediately following the last hound drawn. Beginning with the odd hound or hounds, if any were drawn, additional complete braces or trios or small packs of four shall be made up. If an incomplete brace or trio or small pack still remains, an additional hound or hounds needed to complete the brace or trio or small pack of four shall be selected by the Judges. Any previous scoring received by a hound thus moved shall be cancelled.

The Field Trial Committee at a licensed or member trial shall exercise its authority under Chapter 5, Section 2 of the Registration and Discipline Rules if there is any indication that the substitution was intentional.

by Lynette Coil

A major topic in our sport is the Combined Classes. Many beagle clubs have decided to run Combined Classes versus the four classes we have had in the past; and many are trying to hold onto having four classes because they have entries. Some areas have all they can do to come up with a Combined Class of 6 or 8. Others choose the Combined Class because they want more points. The rule came into effect when out west, and the clubs struggling to make a class in parts of the South and North, the BAC recommended to the AKC to pass the option to run Combined Classes. If we run Combined Classes, it is an all or nothing deal and no changing your mind if you have 40 dogs show up. You cannot change your mind and go back to 13" and 15", as you advertised Combined Females and Males so it's a Combined Class of 40.

At the other end of the spectrum, unfortunately, there has been the circumstance when they get to the trial, a female is in season and the Combined Class also includes males. The female is eliminated and cannot compete. As we all know, we must have 6 entries and starters to hold a license trial to receive a win and points per our Field Trial rule.

Another change that was made was 2-B, page 22. Neutered dogs and spayed bitches are eligible to participate in Beagle field trial and Beagle Two-Couple Pack Hunting Tests.

In the Beagle Field Trial Rule Book on page 22, under Procedure 2. Entries 2-C states:

In a class for combined sexes, any bitch which in the opinion of the Field Trial Committee is in season, shall be ineligible to compete and shall be excluded from the running grounds and regular kennels. A separate kennel shall be provided for such bitches.

2-D All entered hounds must be present on the field trial grounds at the time entries close at a licensed or member trial when entries close on the day the class is to be run.

I hope this helps and look forward to your input and ideas. Think next we will cover running the wrong hound.

Thanks,

Lynette

Skip A Brace?

Recently at a field trial it was brought up could they skip a brace, as the owner/handler was running a dog in the other class on the other side and they would have to wait or could they skip the brace, as they wanted to keep their side running and then go back to the brace they skipped and run it when they got there.  This is totally against our rules and in no way or circumstance do we skip a brace and run it later.  This has been discussed and verified with our AKC Field Director-Hounds, Jim Odle.   Before the rumor mill goes off to the races on skipping a brace, we wanted to clarify the correct rules/procedure we should all be following.

We seem to have enough problems and division, so we need not go against our rules.  For years beaglers, owners/handlers have worked together to help each other and keep the trial moving smoothly on both sides and dogs were run on time, without holding up the other class.  We have typically waited 15 minutes in certain circumstances and on rare occasions, the handler was put on the clock and it ended up they were clocked out for not showing up on time to run their dog in the order it was drawn.  Whether it is our partner, a friend or fellow beagler who can help out and run the dog for us; no one has to be clocked out if we continue and are good sportsman with our fellow beaglers.

It is also in our Beagle Field Trial Rules Pamphlet Under Additional Standard Procedures for Beagle Field Trials Run in Braces on Rabbit or Hare.  See Procedure 6 Closing, Drawing, Bracing Absentees, Page 34, 6-E and 6-F and on Page 35 is Procedure 7, Instructions to Judges.

6-E Owners and Handlers must keep themselves informed as to the running order and progress of the judging; and must be ready within hailing distance when their hounds are called by the Marshal on instructions from the Judges.

The running order cannot be changed under any circumstances once the hounds have been drawn, except as specifically provided in Procedures 2-A (Running the Wrong Hound) covered last month and 6-F.

6-F Any hound, except the additional hound or hounds called to complete an incomplete brace or trio in first series, that does not appear within 15 minutes after the Judges have called for its brace, trio or small pack shall be marked absent in any series and shall not be permitted to run, and its absence shall be reported by the Judges to the Field Trial Committee who shall investigate the absence and submit a complete report to The American Kennel Club.  If in first series, a brace or trio becomes incomplete as the result of one or more hounds being “clocked out” under this Procedure, the remaining hound or hounds, retaining their same relative position to each other, shall be moved down to a position immediately following the last hound drawn; then beginning with the odd hound or hounds, if any were drawn, additional complete braces or trios shall be made up, and if an incomplete brace or trio still remains, an additional hound or hounds needed to complete the brace or trio shall be selected by the Judges.

If a hound is absent after the bracings have been announced in second or subsequent series, the remaining hounds shall be moved up and each hound below the absent hound shall be braced with the next highest hound with which it has not previously been braced.  The Judges shall establish a reasonable time before disqualifying for absence the hound or hounds they have selected to complete an incomplete brace or trio in first series.

I hope this clarifies any questions in regard to our rules and procedures and we are all on the same page in regard to this subject.

I hope beagling is enjoying the articles and everything Tom Czwalga is doing with tallyhonewsletter.com

This month we will discuss the NBQ hound, Desirable Qualities and Faulty Actions of hounds

In the Beagle Field Trial Rule Book, Page 26, Procedure 4-B states

In all classes the Judges shall award places as follows: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and after these places have been awarded the Judges shall designate the next best qualified hound as “N.B.Q.” N.B.Q. is not a place and in case of disqualification of a placed hound at a licensed or member trial, the N.B.Q. hound shall not be moved up. However, the judges while still in the field have the authority to move up the hound they have selected as N.B.Q. if one of the hounds they are considering for a placement commits an action so faulty as to not warrant a placement.

For example, four (4) hounds are brought back in 2nd Series and the Judges have named or are holding N.B.Q., and the 4thplace hound does not bark in 2nd Series. The judges while still in the field have the authority to bring in the N.B.Q. hound and run against the 3rd place hound and then the 4th place hound would move to N.B.Q.  A hound not claiming/pursuing game should not be receiving a place and points.  I think most of us have seen, whether there were 6 or 8 hounds brought back in 2nd Series; and say the 2ndplace hound doesn’t bark or maybe once or twice at the very end for the whole run; the hound was dropped and the others or a brace is moved up and the winner of that brace runs against the high hound in 3rd Series and then 3 and 4, as long as there are no defeated hounds.

On Page 27 Procedure 5 Standard for Judging 5-A Foreword

1)  The Beagle is a trailing hound whose purpose is to find game, to pursue it in an energetic and decisive manner, and to show a determination to account for it.

2) All phases of its work should be approached eagerly, with a display of determination that indicates willingness to stay with any problem encountered until successful. Actions should appear deliberate and efficient, rather than haphazard or impulsive.

3) To perform as desired, the Beagle must be endowed with a keen nose, a sound body, and an intelligent mind, and must have an intense enthusiasm for hunting.

4) Beagle Field Trials are designed and conducted for the purpose of selecting those hounds that display sound quality and ability to the best advantage.

5) This Standard of Performance contains descriptions of both desirable and faulty actions. Judges will use it as a guide in evaluating performances, and will credit or demerit performance to whatever degree their actions indicate quality or fault; and to the extent that these actions contribute to accomplishment, fail to contribute to accomplishment, or interfere with accomplishment.

6) Judges should approach their work with the attitude that the future welfare of the breed is in their hands and should make their findings and selections on a basis calculated toward keeping the Beagle useful for both field trials and hunting purposes.

After the foreword on page 27 is 5-B Definitions of Desirable Qualities and the definitions end on Page 29. Please try to remember our rules pertain to all facets of field trials for beagle hounds and some may not pertain to our current brace trials. For example, years ago we used to cast our hounds to find a rabbit at brace field trials; and searching applied to us.

The Desirable Qualities are: Searching ability; Pursuing ability; Accuracy in trailing; Proper use of voice; Endurance; Adaptability; Patience; Determination; Independence; Cooperation; Competitive spirit; and Intelligence. Again, please see Procedure 5-B, which starts at the end of page 27 and ends on page 29 of the Rule Book for the detailed definitions.

5-C Definitions of Faulty Actions start at the end of Page 29 and ends on Page 31

The Faulty Actions are Quitting; Backtracking; Ghost trailing; Pottering; Babbling; Swinging; Skirting; Leaving checks; Running mute; Tightness of mouth; Racing; Running hit or miss; Lack of independence and Bounding off.

We will continue with Procedure 5; Credits and Demerits at a later date.

I have been asked if I could put together how an individual can find the points and awards for a dog on AKC. Hopefully the following will help you.

AKC Point Progression Steps

Go To www.akc.org

Scroll to Shop Products and hit link

In the Upper Left Hand Corner there is a Menu (there’s a block with 3 blank lines)

Once you touch that block scroll to Points Progression which brings you to AKC Competitor Reports

Scroll to the far right and hit Free Points Progression and a Sign In Screen will pop up

If you have a log in hit that link and sign in or scroll down to Proceed As A Guest and hit that link

Which will bring you to AKC Points and Awards and hit the Find a Dog link which brings you to next screen where you can put in AKC Number or where it says Breed scroll to Beagle and tab to the next line which is where you type the name of the dog (which has to be the correct spelling) or it won’t work, then Search.  In an instance where it is a II, III, IV, just type the name and no number and it will bring up all the dogs whether it is Joe II, Joe III, Joe IV and hit the AKC Number and you will be brought to the AKC Points and Awards Report Page and you will see the Dog’s Name

Scroll to the right and hit the link which reads View Points/Summary of the Title Progression for this dog

Which then brings up the Summary Page and you will see the name of Dog and AKC Number and below that will be the Summary Page of the Wins and Points as of whatever date they last put in trial results for that hound.

Continuing With Procedure 5, Credits and Demerits

We left off with Faulty Actions last month and will now continue with 5-D Credits on Page 31 and 5-E Demerits, Page 32 in our Beagle Field Trial Rules

5-D Credits

(1) Hounds shall be credited principally for their positive accomplishments. The extent of any credit should be governed by the magnitude of the accomplishment and the manner in which it is achieved. Credit is earned for searching ability, pursuing ability, accuracy in trailing, proper use of voice, endurance, adaptability, patience determination, proper degree of independence, cooperation, controlled competitive spirit, When intelligence displayed when searching or in solving problems encountered along the trail and success in accounting for game.

(2) When crediting hounds for working style or methods used to gain accomplishments, Judges should keep the purpose of the breed constantly in mind and be alert for hounds, deficient in ability, that make simple problems appear difficult. They also should guard against becoming impressed by fascinating actions that do not produce results. Credit for working style should be used chiefly to differentiate between successful performers, and should never be applied to a degree which might indicate that style or method has been preferred to accomplishment, except in instances where excessive faultiness is involved. Credit for any accomplishment should be in proportion to its contribution to the performance. Mere lack of fault is not grounds for credit. While faultiness is not to be considered lightly, the slightly faulty hound that succeeds should be preferred to the stylist that fails.

5-E Demerits

(1)  Faults, mistakes, lack of accomplishment and apparent lack of intelligence shall be considered demerits and shall be penalized to whatever extent they interfere with or fail to contribute to performance.

(2) Faults are undesirable traits indicating lack of sound quality, and shall be penalized in proportion to  the degree of commitment, the frequency of repetition, and the distractions they afford running mates, as well as for the interruptions or lack of progress they cause during the performance. Quitting, backtracking, ghost trailing and running mute are the more serious faults. Pottering, swinging, skirting, babbling, leaving checks, racing, running in hit-or-miss fashion, tightness of mouth and lack of desire or ability to find and move game shall be considered demerits.

(3) Mistakes are erratic judgments, sometimes committed under pressure of competition and prompted by a desire to excel and sometimes due to influence of faulty running mates. Where mistakes are not committed with a frequency that would indicate lack of sound quality, consideration should be shown according to the hound’s aptitude for realizing its errors and its efforts to overcome them.

(4) Lack of accomplishment is failure to get enough done to compare favorably with the competition, and is often due to lack of such qualities as determination, patience, intelligence or endurance. In instances where this is apparent, the penalty should be severe. Judgment on hounds that fail to accomplish as desired should be based on the circumstances under which the failure occurred and the determination and intelligence displayed in the effort to overcome it. Where failure is no fault of the hound, such as interference with the game or trail, or where a worthy hound encounters an especially hazardous or abnormal circumstance unlike anything the majority of contestants are expected to overcome, new game should be provided without penalty. Lack of intelligence is apparent in the hound that does not portray sound judgment and skill during its performance.

This month we are going to talk about certain rules in Procedure 7, which pertains to Instructions to Judges.  There are further details in the Rule Book in regard to the rules that either aren’t here as I just pulled out certain key lines.  Keeping good book work whether it is scores, notes, etc helps us come up with a bye dog if needed, bracing/pairing our hounds for 2nd, 3rd, subsequent Series, who is defeated by who, which aids us in being accurate,

answering questions, etc.

Pages 35-37, Procedure 7.  Instructions To Judges

Under 7- B, 7thLine through 12th

Judges shall establish a reasonable time before dropping a hound that is missing after the start of a brace or trio. The hound or hounds called to complete a brace or trio in any series shall be under judgment.  Any previous scoring received by such additional hound or hounds shall be cancelled, unless previously defeated.

Under 7-I, 13th   Line through 22nd

In bracing the hounds in second series, the hound having the highest score from first series must be announced as the first hound in the first brace, and its bracemate shall be the next highest scored hound which has not been braced with it in first series.  The remaining braces in second series and all braces in subsequent series shall be braced in the same manner.  No two hounds shall be braced together if they have run in the same brace or trio in an earlier series.

7-J

All hounds called for second series shall be considered as having an opportunity to win or place regardless of their relative positions when called back, except that no hound shall be placed higher than another placed hound by which it has previously been defeated in direct competition during the running of the class.  In deciding whether one hound has defeated another in direct competition in second or subsequent series, the scoring of the two hounds in earlier series shall not be considered.  After first series, the Judges shall run each brace until one hound in their opinion has clearly defeated the other, unless both hounds are so faulty as not to merit further consideration for placement.  If required, additional rabbits may be given at the Judges’ discretion.

7-K

The Judges may announce the four placed hounds at any time after completion of second series, provided each placed hound has been defeated in direct competition by the hound placed immediately above it.  All placed hounds must have run in second series.  No series, nor any part of any series, shall be rerun except for any part of a series which may have been affected by an error made by the Judges in bracing or in identification of a hound, and except further that the Judges may continue to running of a brace at a later time or on the following day if darkness or severe weather conditions make it necessary to pick up the hounds before the judging of that brace is completed. Must agree on the scoring of each hound before starting the next

7-L

The judges must agree on the scoring of each hound before starting the next brace or trio.

7-M

Should there arise at any time during the running of a heat a question concerning the actual running of the hounds that is not provided for in these Procedures, the Judges shall handle the situation in a manner not contrary to these Procedures, and shall so decide the matter as to give each hound an equal opportunity.

7-N

No owner or handler shall have any right to question or refuse to follow the Judges orders

This month I thought I would write on AKC Code of Sportsmanship, which is in our Beagle Field Trial Rules.  It is sad to see some areas losing ground in regard to holding field trials and losing our code of sportsmanship.  On the back inside cover of our book there is  AKC Code of Sportsmanship and the following bullet points are as printed.

PREFACE:  The sport of purebred dog competitive events dates prior to 1884, the year of AKC's birth.  Shared values of those involved in the sport include principles of sportsmanship.  They are practiced in all sectors of our sport:  Conformation, performance, companion and all facets of our sport would definitely benefit if we all participated and followed at our trials.  Many believe that these principles of sportsmanship are the prime reason why our sport has thrived for over one hundred years.  With the belief that it is useful to periodically articulate the fundamentals of our sport, this code is presented.

In a world of changes, sometimes we need to be reminded of the basics and what is important in life. Hope the following can be of help.

It is often said, "The pen is mightier than the sword." And it's true – words can hold a lot of power. They can uplift and inspire others to tackle the challenges and hardships in their lives, they can break a person slowly over time or deliver instant heartache with a simple sentence.

But, for now, we want to talk about the good words. When you're feeling down or lacking motivation, you might turn to certain quotes for inspiration. Whether they come from your favorite author or actor, these messages may remind you to keep pushing forward and continue trying in whatever you do.

If you're looking for more, here is a compiled list of motivational quotes from throughout the decades:

Food For Thought in Todays World

Some questions have been raised in regard to Combined Classes.  Many areas are having a hard time in having six entries whether it be females or males.  Many clubs are advertising their trial as Males and Females will run on the same day.   Some don’t have enough for a male class, and some don’t have enough for a female class. For example, We do have the option if there are 8 males and 4 females or vice versa, we can combine the class and have a Combined class of 12 entries. Unfortunately, if a female was to be declared in season by the Field Trial Committee, she is disqualified and the bracemate would become the bye dog and the judges will find him a bracemate.

Again,  for 2nd Series or if there are less than 9 entries, all dogs are measured with true measurements, whether it be 13 or 15.  Another scenario that has come up, is when 2nd Series is called and there are 4 dogs back, and the 5th dog is being held in the NBQ position; and for example, the 4th dog does not bark, the 5th dog is then brought in to run against the 3rd place dog.  This is still 2ndSeries, as every dog has to be defeated by the dog above it and the original 4thdog is now NBQ.  Now 3rd Series will be called if 3 has not been defeated by 2, etc.  The easiest thing to remember whether 2nd, 3rd, and any subsequent series, every dog has to be defeated by the dog above it.

In the Beagle Field Trial Rules by AKC, On page 14, Chapter 9, Description of Classes and Championship Requirements, under Section 1 it states….

However, if when the entries are closed, it is found that there are fewer than six hounds of a sex eligible to compete in any class, the Field Trial Committee shall have the option of combining that class either by gender or size into a single class.

However, only in the case of traditional Brace trials, the host club has the option to offer only two classes – Open Dogs and Open Bitches.  The advertisement for the trial must clearly identify the classes offered.  Once approved by the AKC, a club may not decide to split a class by size.

No hound may be entered in more than one of these classes at any field trial.

A club may be approved to hold additional non-regular classes, provided a description of the eligibility requirements appears in the premium list.

Update on Cliff Hall.  We thank Bryan Frye for updating us on Cliff. He talked to Cliff today and surgery went well, he is out of ICU and in a room. It was the size of a diamond/quarter and he will be coming home on Thursday.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers and please continue them for a full and speedy recovery.

Unfortunately, sad news on Steve Smith

Thoughts and Prayers for Steve Smith in Ohio. After his doctor appointment he has been informed he will be under going open heart surgery in 4-6 weeks.  He has two blockages one 80% and one 90%.  They don't even want him to run dogs. Needless to say, he isn't too happy about that. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. I'm so glad we got to see him Sunday at the Midwestern.  Steve and Kathy you are both in our prayers for everything you need to get through this.

PERILS OF WISDOM FROM THOSE BEFORE US AND WITH US THAT WE CAN UTILIZE, PRACTICE, SHARE AND LEARN FROM

This month let's start with...

You're entering a new season where everything will start to go your way.  It's time.  You had enough lessons. You did the work.  You overcame so much.  You believed even when it was hard to.  You never gave up.  You pushed through it all.

"Now it's your turn to receive in a major way."

When life gets hard, just remember that nothing lasts forever.  You've been happy before and you'll be happy again.

You might not see it today, but everything is going to be okay.

You will never be good enough for everybody, but you will always be good enough for someone who really appreciates you.

The moment you accept responsibility for everything in your life is the moment you gain power to change everything in your life.

Do not underestimate yourself.  No matter what people say, You are better than you think, you are loved and you deserve to be happy and have a peaceful life.

At the end of life, what really matters is not what we bought, but what we built; not what we got, but what we hared; not our competence, jbut our character; and not our success, but our significance.  Live a life that matters.  Live a life of love.

Your life journey is a special one.  Cherish every single day of your life.  Because if you won't, who will?  Time flies so quickly and every day is a blessing.  Don't take it for granted.  As you wake up every day, put your heart into every breath of yours.  Be grateful to be able to dream, love, and have fun.

Don't be upset if your life isn't perfect.  Be grateful for everything that you already have, and always trust your journey.  The more you appreciate and love your life, the happier you will be.

Rumors can make you dislike innocent people.  Don't judge people off of what others are saying about them.  Be wise, get to know them for yourself, then form your opinion.  The one talking to you, maybe the one you need to stay away from.

A person becomes ten times more attractive not by the looks but by their act of kindness, love, respect, honesty and loyalty they show.

Know your place in people's lives and act accordingly.  It's not pride, it's self respect.  Two things you don't fight for...

True love and true friends.  They come naturally.

LIFE isn't easy but every day you get a chance to make a difference.  Be thankful for what you already have and work hard for the things you want because every breath you take is a blessing.

Every situation in life is temporary.  So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully.  And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way.

When you face difficult times, know that challenges are not sent to destroy you.

They're sent to promote, increase and strengthen you.

There are 3 C's in life:

Choice, Chance, Change,

You must make the Choice,

to take the Chance,

if you want anything in life to change.

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and
I may remember, involve me and I learn".

Now lets close with a bit of humor

5 DEADLY TERMS USED BY A WOMAN

#1  Fine

This is the word women use to end an argument when she knows she is right and you need to stop talking.

#2  Nothing

Means something and you should be worried.

#3 Go Ahead

Do NOT confuse this with permission!

It's a dare and don't even think about it.

#4 Whatever

A woman's way of calling you an idiot.

#5 That's OK

She is thinking long and hard on how and when you will pay for your mistake.

BONUS WORD;  WOW!

This is not a compliment.  She is amazed that one person could be so clueless.

Hope it made you smile!  So till next time, enjoy every day!

As we move into 2025, many make resolutions or just keep working on the changes we want to make. So just keep trying and it becomes easier. Some can be quickly and sometimes it is slowly. Holidays can be a rough time for some, so let's be loving, patient, understanding and kind. So here is a start and hope it helps...
Remember
So many of us are not OK right now.
Some of us are grieving, financially stressed out and doing the best we can. The holidays are a tough time for so many and you never know what someone is going through.
Be kind.
🌟 Life is an extraordinary journey, woven with a rich tapestry of diverse experiences that encompass both remarkable victories and formidable challenges. Each day brings forth a unique set of obstacles that test our resilience and determination, shaping who we are in profound ways. From grappling with the stresses of a demanding job to facing significant transitions that alter our path, these trials are integral to our personal growth and development.
It's crucial to acknowledge that every challenge, no matter how insurmountable it may seem, holds valuable lessons that can lead us to deeper self-understanding and enhanced resilience. Embracing these difficulties not only nurtures our individual growth but also unveils a multitude of new opportunities that we might not have considered otherwise.
As we navigate this intricate maze of life, let's commit to standing together in solidarity, offering support and encouragement to one another. By doing so, we can transform our struggles into powerful stepping stones, propelling us toward a brighter and more fulfilling future!
Some have spent so much of life being the strong one—the one who keeps it together when everything feels like it’s falling apart, the one who pushes through even when the weight feels unbearable. They are so used to wearing that strength like armor that they almost forget what it feels like to be soft, to let their guard down. That’s why being treated with kindness means more than words can express. It’s not about needing someone to save them—We can handle the hard stuff—but feeling safe enough to be vulnerable, even for a moment. When you’re used to carrying so much, even the smallest acts of gentleness feel like a reminder that they don’t have to be strong all the time, that it’s okay to rest. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.

I once asked a very successful woman to share her secret with me. She smiled and said to me..
“I started succeeding when I started leaving small fights for small fighters.
I stopped fighting those who gossiped about me..
I stopped fighting with my in laws..
I stopped fighting for attention..
I stopped fighting to meet public expectation of me..
I stopped fighting for my rights with stupid people..
I left such fights for those who have nothing else to fight..
Keanu Reeves once said: Kind people often share a deep love for animals. Animals have a unique way of connecting with us, offering a kind of companionship that feels pure and unfiltered. Anyone who has ever formed a bond with an animal knows the magic they bring to our lives.
There is a quiet nobility in animals, a way of being that can teach us humility, patience, and empathy. They remind us to be kind, to offer love freely, and to appreciate the simple joys in life. Animals give without expecting anything in return, teaching us about loyalty, trust, and the beauty of unconditional love.
Through them, we become kinder, softer, and more compassionate, learning to care deeply for the world around us. In their presence, we find comfort, healing, and a reminder of our own capacity to love. It is a privilege to know and care for them, and they bring out the best in us simply by being who they are. 🐾🧡🐾🧡
And I started fighting for my vision, my dreams, my ideas and my destiny.
The day I gave up on small fights is the day I started becoming successful.”
Some fights are not worth your time.Choose what you fight for wisely.
~Amazing startups
Many of us have pets and no matter if it's a bad day or good, they just wag their tail, give us that look and love us no matter what.

The dogs I know have more soul, more heart, more love, more connection, more patience, and more softness than any human I’ve ever met. They don’t ask for anything, no explanations, no justifications. They just stay, steady and sure, as if they’ve always known what you need before you do.
People complicate love. They wrap it in conditions, dress it in expectations. Dive it towards pain and disappointment. A dog doesn’t do that. Their love is raw, honest, and without strings. Without complications. They see you..not the version you show the world, but the one you keep buried. And they love that version most of all.
I’ve met plenty of people, but none have ever matched the soft, gentle loyalty of a dog. They don’t try to fix you; they just sit beside you, whole and true. Through thick and thin. And that’s more than most humans will ever understand.
~R.M. Drake ⭐
Happy New Year and God Bless!
