Larry Adams passes away

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from Sonny Price that.

Larry Adams from Dora, AL. passed away.

Larry hadn't been doing well for a while.  Larry ran his dogs under the kennel name Bun-E-Line.  He bred and finished many field champions.  He belonged to Corner, Cullman and Redland beagle clubs.  Larry judged many sanction, license and Federation trials.  We all enjoyed being at the Southern and seeing everyone.  There are many cherished memories of all kinds through the years.  He loved Beagling and running his hounds and telling many stories through the years.  Larry worked hard and went into the Hall of Fame in 1984, Bun-E-Line Bondsman went in 1980, and Bun-E-Line Black Bandit in 2001. As you can see, he was very successful and contributed to the sport and we thank him for the positive things and lessons throughout the years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.

At this time, we don't have an obituary and will update when available.

To family and friends...

God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around you and whispered, Come to Me.

With tearful eyes we watch you and saw you pass away and although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove us he only takes the best.

O.C. Greenwood passes away

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from Al Baker, who received a call from O.C. and Carolyn's son, that O.C. passed away Monday night, April 29, 2024, at Hospice.

O.C.  and Carolyn ran their dogs under the kennel name Wood Fork and finished countless Field Champions through the years.  Their home clubs were Old Dominion and Colonial in Virginia.  Very rarely did you see one without the other and they gave beagling all they had and then some.  I remember O.C. telling me that he and Carolyn never had an argument in all their years of marriage.  They supported many sanctions, license trials and went to all the federations through the years.  O.C. held offices at the federations and at their home club and helped at any trial they went to, whether it was marshaling, beating brush or running dogs.   They supported the handlers at the trials when they were unable to participate.  We are very grateful for all his help, knowledge, dedication, service, wisdom and lessons through the years.  O.C. and Carolyn were great friends and competitors; and it was a pleasure to call them a friend.  We are very grateful for the one-on-one talks we had and shared through the years. There have been many challenges and bumps in the road through the years, but they always showed up with a smile on their faces.

O.C. and Carolyn went into the Breeders Hall of Fame in 2004, which the minimum requirement is 15 Field Champions, and we know he well exceeded that through the years and probably doubled that number.  His last favorite stud dog he campaigned was Close Call Chaplin and he worked together with the late Jim Halley, and they were very successful, and Chaplin went home to O.C. after losing Jim.  Thank you for all your contributions and help to our sport and fellow beaglers through the years.

Our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are being sent to Carolyn, their children, grandchildren, rest of their family and friends.  We have missed and will continue to miss you.  May you rest in peace and soar with the eagles!   I think O.C. would tell us...

Tom Couch passes away

We're all so sad to receive the news from Tom Couch 's daughter, Nancy Couch Janich, that Tom lost his long and courageous battle early this morning, May 14, 2024

God saw you were tired so wrapped you in his arms, as well as the angels wrapped you in their wings and ended the pain and suffering and welcomed you to heaven.

Tom was a member of Iodine State outside of Pelzer, SC and ran his dogs under the kennel name Tanglewood.  He finished many hounds, had judged many trials, was a long time friend and partner with Russ Arend. If you met Tom Couch, you had a wonderful friend. He mentored many beaglers through the years and had a big and wonderful heart and a smile to match.  Tom has been a true asset through the years and was very respected and admired.  We thank him from the bottom of our hearts for his love, dedication, devotion, support, guidance and all his contributions through the years.  We got to see Beagling at It's finest and biggest and cherish all the special memories.  Tom definitely is a big loss to so many of us and he is a true Treasure that will be missed beyond Measure!

As good of a friend he was, he was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather who was very respected, admired, loving and helpful to those who crossed his path.

We are very grateful for the time we had with you; will cherish the memories, as you will forever live on in our hearts! Thank You so much for all your gifts through the years.  We know your faith in God helped you fight this long and courageous battle and he will bless your family and friends during this very difficult time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with each of them.

Cliff Hall passes away

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from Bryan Frye and Cliff Hall's son that Cliff lost his battle last night, 7/17/2024.

Cliff belonged to Delsea in New Jersey and was past Vice President.  He ran his dogs under the kennel name Close Line and finished many field champions.  He has been a member of ABBA.  He competed at license and sanction trials, supported the federations until the cancer just wouldn't allow him to do so anymore.  He traveled many miles with Bryan Frye and they were partners on some of Cliff's dogs.  Cliff also traveled many miles with Fred Eurick and helped him.
We have missed him, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Cotton Edwards passes away

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from Shyann Richmond, granddaughter of Garnet (Cotton) Edwards, that he went to be with the Lord Friday night, 9/13/2024.  He definitely went in peace and the family thanks all of you for your prayers and support.

Cotton belonged to Mountain State beagle club and for years supported Lorain County Beagle Club and the Heartland, as well as his wife Connie.  He ran his dogs under the kennel name San-Bay. He would always watch paths at Mountain State's trials. We have missed him since his health would not longer allow him to come to the trials.  For years he went to North Carolina and supported Cross Creek, Coastal Plains, Mayfield, West Ridge, etc.  He also supported trials in Ohio, SC, PA, VA, WV, MI, etc.  I can still see Cotton and Connie dancing and laughing at the Heartland.

He always had a smile and loved his family.

Jerre Houck Obituary
Jerre Houck, 85, of Dover, passed away on November 15, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jerre was born in Quarryville, Lancaster County, on December 29, 1938, to the late Melvin Andrew and Marion Elizabeth (Skiles) Houck. Jerre lost his father at an early age and his fondest childhood memories were of his time spent with his grandparents. Jerre graduated from Lampeter Strasburg High School, class of 1956. Jerre married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine (Hart), with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Jerre retired from Pennsylvania Power & Light in 1994. He worked at Brunner Island in York Haven and retired as a supervisor. Jerre was respected as a leader and well liked for his calm and patient demeanor. After his retirement, Jerre was free to pursue his lifelong love of beagling. He was a member of three beagle clubs: Harrisburg, Swatara, and Maryland. He held offices in two of the clubs. In addition to training and running his own dogs, Jerre judged many federations and licensed trials on the east coast. He was incredibly proud of the many field champions he’d trained over the years. Jerre’s best friend Ben Smith was also an avid beagler and Jerre & Geraldine enjoyed visiting Ben and his wife Shirley in North Carolina. Jerre was a devoted Penn State and San Francisco 49ers fan, having a relative who played for the 49er’s.

Jerre lived a life without any regrets – he was proud to have retired early, and he spent his time as he wished – with his family and with his dogs. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always held out hope that one of them would pick up his love of beagling.

In addition to his parents, Jerre was also predeceased by one brother, Marshall Myer (Evelyn). He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine, his siblings Kenneth Houck (Annette, dec’d), Blaine Myer (Darla), Donald Myer, and Anne Warren (Greg); 5 children: Sherree Smith, Kimberly Justus (Douglas), Deborah Bishop (Robert), Reed Houck (Susan), and Cinthia Corson (David); 13 grandchildren: Nicole Mortelliti, Stephanie Galloway (David), Erin Webster (Daniel), Matthew Smith (Brittany), Jared Justus, Chelsea Newcomer (Zachary), Wade Bishop (Jessica), Zachary Houck (Kaylee), Seth Houck (Allison), David Roye (Ashley), Dalton Roye (Ashley), Jacob Corson, and Eric Miller (Sara); 17 great-grandchildren: Paige, Riley, Lucas, Emma, Maella, Wyatt, Fiona, Brantley, Jase, Noah, Magdalena, Cici, Levi, Savannah, Lillian, Scarlett, and Weston.

William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 South Main Street, Manchester, is in charge of private funeral arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent in Jerre’s memory to Pitt Hopkins Research Foundation at pitthopkins.org/donate

We’ll remember him as “ten feet tall and bulletproof…God couldn’t make a man any tougher” (Luke Combs).

Donald "Don" Davidson passes away

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news from friends, Jimmy Ponder and Bob Kimber that William Donald "Don" Davidson passed away on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/24 from Clarksville, TN.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his sons John(Jessica) and Scott (Debbie) and their families and friends on their loss of Dad.

Their Mom, Grace Ransdell Davidson "Rande", passed away in February 2018 and now he is reunited with the love of his life and all smiles again.

Donald belonged to Middle Tennessee Beagle Club and ran his dogs under the kennel name Twin Oaks.  Donald finished many Field Champions throughout his career and knew a good dog.  A couple of his last ones were Twin Oaks Tommy John, Twin Oaks Tammie Mae and many others. There were many good times and stories sitting around the fireplace at Middle Tennessee Thanksgiving weekend and February. He judged many license trials all over the country, North, South, East and West, sanction trials and federations. You always had a lot of laughs and a good time when Donald was at a trial, as there was never a dull moment.  There are countless times and memories at the Southern, Mid Dixie, Heartland at Honey Bee, Midwestern, Eastern, IBF and Northeastern through the years. He was a very dedicated, devoted and knowledgeable houndsman and many of us were fortunate enough to have him as a friend and he would help in any way he could.  He did all he could to help Middle Tennessee when he was physically able.  He supported beagling on all levels, was a past member of ABBA and an avid supporter of the federations.  The Midwestern at Rolling Fork and Southern at Lookout were his favorites and he would come for as long as his health allowed.  He always had a smile on his face and an experience/story to share.  He supported the handlers when he wasn't able to get to a trial.  I think his 2nd home was at Alabama with Jimmy Ponder.  Donald proved he was definitely bitten by the "beagling bug" and did all he could to help the federations, clubs, his friends and field trials.  There were moments when you may have gotten stubborn/cantankerous, but the true friends accepted that side and loved you anyway. You will always be in our hearts and live on through the many precious memories.  It has been quite a journey, and we thank you for all you contributed.  Rest in Peace our Dear Friend and know you're all a glow being with your precious Rande again.  Donald had many memories and stories throughout the years, and we would like him to know we will always remember...

Your impact on other people is bigger than you think.  Someone still giggles when they think of that funny thing you said.

Someone still smiles when they think of the compliment you gave them. Someone silently admires you. The advice you gave has made a difference for people. The support and love you've offered others has made someone's day. Your input and opinions have made someone think twice.

You're not insignificant or forgotten. Your existence made a positive difference many days whether you saw it or not.

Donald was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and our prayers are with all of you to be granted all you need to get through this difficult time. I think Donald would tell us all...

Wayne Parker passes away

It is with a heavy heart that Marty posted his Dad passed away today, December 6, 2024 around noon, the day after his birthday.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Marty, Carla, sisters, brothers, rest of the family and all their friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife/love of his life, Pat on July 9, 2016 and they had been married for 61 years. They are now together again and there is no more pain. Their smiles, love and hearts are reunited with their past family and friends, as they are all free again.

Wayne was a great houndman, father, husband, uncle, grandfather, friend and the originator/founding father of the Bee Lick kennels and member of Bluegrass Beagle Club. His knowledge and expertise was definitely proven through the years and shared and passed onto his son and partner, Marty. There came the time when Wayne had the dogs ready and Marty took them to the trials and federations when Dad could no longer attend.  They won Field Champion Trials, Derby Awards, Futurity Classes and worked very hard, which is what usually brings successful hounds.  Bee Lick has finished many Field Champions through the years and had stud dogs.  We understand how Marty became such a successful beagler, trainer and houndman.  In 1992 Wayne went into the National Brace Beagling Breeder Hall of Fame; and in 2008 Wayne went into the Traditional Brace Beagling Hall of Fame, Beagling's well deserved and highest honor. The proof and statistics of what Wayne had accomplished through the years has definitely been shown; and his peers elected to show their respect and honor Wayne.  Wayne's years of knowledge, dedication, devotion, hardwork and service was passed on and shared with so many of us. He helped many beaglers and friends through the years.  He supported beagling in every way he could and was a past member of ABBA.  It was always nice when he would stop in at Bluegrass or attend the Midwestern banquet at Rolling Fork and catch up.  He always had a smile on his face and many great conversations and memories have been made through the years.  He will forever be in our hearts and live on as we reminisce on all the stories and good times through the years.  We thank him for his contributions, knowledge, lessons and guidance through the years.  He is a true treasure that will be missed beyond measure!

Some of the highlights from the Bee Lick Kennels that were originated are Bee Lick Zeke went into the Hall of Fame in 2010 and Bee Lick Legend in 2012.  The hounds that put them into the Breeders Hall of Fame are Producing Dams Bee Lick B Bad (2011); Producing Sires Bee Lick Legend (2008); Bee Lick Zeke (2006); Producing Dams Bee Lick Spice Girl (2004); Bee Lick Hazel (1997) and Bee Lick Tekla (1992).  As you can see, Wayne leaves quite a legacy and was a true asset to our sport.  He led by example, shared and helped many beaglers, clubs and federations. He was very respected and admired and became an icon in the world of beagling. He was a second Dad and brother to many of us.  There is a big void in beagling with the loss of such a houndman and sportsman that just can't be replaced. I know he will continue to watch over us and will forever be in our hearts. Most of us would say....

Wanda LeFever passes away

Wanda Lefever, wife and life partner of Guy Lefever, passed away yesterday, 2/24/25 from complications from dementia. Wanda and Guy were popular beaglers and ran their hounds under the kennel name Locust Valley and finished many field champions throughout the years. They were very supportive of Beagle Clubs in Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey. They hardly missed a field trial for years. They supported ABBA, the federations, license and sanction trials and the Eastern and Northeastern were very near and dear to their hearts. You very seldom saw one without the other and they were quite the team.

They belonged to Lanco and Maryland Beagle Clubs and supported beagling in every way they could, whether it was competition, judging trials, participating in the field, sharing knowkedge and memories, etc.

Wanda will forever be in our hearts and live on through the many cherished memories we share. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family and friends. May God bless them with everything they need to get through this very difficult time.
